The
best dog in the Winner 2005 Show in Helsinki
Fair Centre on Saturday
night 17th December was Wire Fox Terrier Ash Grove Highwaystar, owner
Luisa Romanini c/o Agneta Åström, of Helsingborg, Sweden.
A
total of 7,800 dogs from 23 countries competed for the title of Best
in Show. About 6,000 of these were Finnish dogs, but only one Finnish
dog was among the best four, ranking as the third. The second-best dog
was Flat Coated Retriever Almanza Far & Flyg, owner Sandén Jonna,
Oslo, Norway. The third was Dalmatian Kamilkan
Väinämöinen, owners Niemenperä Jonna & Taru, Kirkkonummi, Finland.
The fourth one was Pug Pugsies Henry Morse,
owner Sandberg Harrieth, Torsåker, Sweden.
The
Winner show also featured the Finnish Championships for Junior
Handlers. The winner, Iida Villman of Joensuu, will represent Finland
in the Crufts Show in England where the Junior Handler World
Championships take place in March 2006.
The
largest international dog show arranged by the
Finnish Kennel Club on
Saturday was a success. About 7,800 dogs of 305 breeds were shown. The
visitors numbered 23,000 on Saturday. According to the Helsinki Fair
Centre, the Winner 2005 Show was among the top shows in the Centre in
terms of one-day event visitors. |
