A main ring with questions
The International Show took place
during two days. On Saturday three groups were
judged: 2, 5 and 9 and on Sunday the other 7. The
club organised two Best of Groups: one for the BOB
winner and one the Best Young of Breed.
On Saturday the best three adults
were English Bulldog, Baltimore des Rolfy’s
Bulls. The Toy group was won by the Shih Tzu,
Versace Italian Dream. The group 5 was won by an
Alaskan Malamute. Coming out from the ring the owner
told the Kennel Club that it was not possible for
him to be present the day after in the main ring for
the BIS. He asked if it was not possible to give its
place to the second of the group. The club even
offered to the owner to pay the night in the hotel
but it was not a question of money but of
kilometres. After a moment of disorientation they
asked Mr Le Magnan, judged of the BIS, if he agreed
to accepted the second in the main ring. The answer
was positive but the day after there was no
representative of the 5th group. After
this discussion a question was born: what to do in
this front of this situation? Should a person who
knows not having the possibility to be present in
the main ring for the BIS present his dog for the
BOG? In a few countries if a BOG winner has no
possibility to be present for the BIS, it can be
replaced by the second. In other countries if the
BOG winner do not come he loses its tickets. If you
win you stay until the end. The main ring is a show
and so it has not an international rule. FCI says
that for the BIS there should be in the main ring
the ten BOG winners. France had to change its rules
a few years ago because in the International shows
there were elected the best dog of Saturday and the
best one of Sunday. These two winners competed for
the BIS. The judge of the BIS had so to choose only
between two dogs.
The winners of the Young Best of
Group were the Fila Brasileiro (Cesmine z
Kotlinky- Gr 2), the Wolfspitz (Coktail
Crufts of Bloom White- Gr5) and the Lhasa Apso (Chanazee
Dehapchinga
– Gr9). The Best of the day was not planned in the
catalogue and because of that the three Saturday
winners were living the show when someone told them
that there was a Best of Day. The Best Young is a
local competition. The Best of day was choose by Mr.
Kerihuel who assigned the first place to the Lhasa
Apso.
